Many colleges provide at least a single college success course that can educate you these skills. Such courses should be taught to school students, though few schools provide them. Good college success courses will educate you how to study, some reading comprehension strategies, the best styles of learning as well as types of intelligences, set and reach the goals, discovery of your strengths and talents, time management, career exploration, note taking, writing skills, problem solving, and others.

1. Provide suggestions, but not solutions. Telling your children what to do or even solvling the problem yourself, will bring more bad than good. Resolution of conflict is a skill, which should be practiced: the more you will do for your children, the longer this will take them to grow confident. In its place, you should assist them in becoming critical thinkers by brainstorming solutions, picturing scenarios, and thinking about possible consequences and outcomes.
